In the run-up to Halloween, two imposing and curious animals recently landed on the roof of People’s Laundromat in Fair Haven
They are the Big Cat and the Big Spider, brought to town this year as in years past by People’s Laundromat’s Angelo Reyes to herald the arrival of Halloween.
They appear on the slanted roof above the busy laundromat on Grand and Poplar in Fair Haven, turning their heads from side to side to check out what’s happening below.
Most pedestrians and laundromat users are by now accustomed to the animals and barely look up. But kids know. Come Halloween evening, Reyes said that he will be distributing candy to neighborhood trick-or-treaters beneath the watchful eyes of the animals on the roof.
“Every year,” said Reyes. “Every year.”
