A man living at a group facility at 90 Park St. was “off his meds” and “breaking windows” around 5 p.m. Saturday. Cops showed up; when they weren’t allowed access, a SWAT team arrived, including negotiators, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery. The cops forced their way inside and tasered the man off his meds. The cops took him to the hospital to be evaluated and charged him with disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer.
Also, according to Avery:
A man refused medical treatment Sunday after getting shot near the corner of Harrison Street near Whalley Avenue.
The man said he and four friends were walking on Whalley toward Blake Street between 12:30 and 1 a.m. Someone in a passing white 2000 or 2001 Nissan Altima fire three shots at the group and “grazed” the victim in the right wrist.
And two people — including an infant in a car seat — were treated for minor injuries after a two-car collision at Edgewood Avenue and Forest Road which shut down traffic for an hour.
