A 32-year-old New Haven man Saturday evening became the city’s third homicide victim of 2021.
The man was sitting in a parked car on Grand Avenue when someone shot him around 8:30 p.m., according to police spokesperson Capt. Anthony Duff.
At that point the man started driving, through the intersection of Lloyd Street, then into a commercial building at 337 Grand, Duff reported.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Update: Police Monday identified the victim as Jorge Osorio-Caballero, 32, of Fair Haven.
Police are also investigating the shooting deaths of Alfreda Youmans, 50, and Jeffrey Dotson, 42, whose bodies were discovered last Sunday inside a Winthrop Avenue apartment.
