A narcotics squad seized hundreds of bags of heroin and made three arrests in a targeted operation Wednesday on Blake Street, according to state police.
The incident was handled by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force South Central Field Office, a squad of state police and local cops from New Haven, Orange, Woodbridge, and Cheshire.
Lt. Paul Vance, spokesman for the state police, said the squad arrested three men and seized 700 bags of heroin, 26.8 grams of raw heroin and $869 in cash on Blake Street Wednesday afternoon. One of those arrests took place after a foot chase through backyards near the Boulevard.
The three men, of Norton Street, Sherman Avenue and Earl Street, were charged with numerous narcotics offenses.
Man Mugged Of Wallet
City spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga on Wednesday evening released information about a street robbery in the Hill at 8:26 p.m. on Tuesday night.
The robbery took place in the area of Liberty Street and Columbus Avenue. A victim told police he was walking on Liberty Street when an unknown man came up to him, punched him in the chest and asked for his wallet. The victim complied.
