Charter Revision Commission Agenda — April 11

(CITY NOTICE- NEW HAVEN)- THE 2023 NEW HAVEN CHARTER REVISION COMMISSION WILL CONVENE ON THE FOLLOWING DATES AND TIMES IN THE BOARD OF ALDERS CHAMBER LOCATED ON THE 2ND FLOOR OF CITY HALL, 165 CHURCH STREET, NEW HAVEN TO DO THE WORK OF THE COMMISSION AS FOLLOWS:

 April 11, 2023 @ 6 PM (workshop on the Charter) to discuss BOA #3: Updating Board of Alders compensation to $5,000 for Alders and $6,250 for President and including an increase tied to cost-of-living increases; BOA #5: Maintaining the same number of Alders on Board and Commissions when all Alders are of the same party; BOA #6: Updating the Charter to include provisions requiring all Memorandum of Understanding to be approved by Alders; BOA #9: Review extending the time period for the approval of nominees to Boards and Commissions from 60 days to 90 days; Public requests re – (1) §6.c of Charter re – plurality vote;” (2) Ranked Choice Voting; (3) Traffic Authority; and (4) Health Board Membership.

 April 18, 2023 @ 6 PM (workshop on the Charter)

 April 22, 2023 @ 10 AM (workshop on the Charter, and additional public hearing If needed)

 April 25, 2023 @ 6 PM Deliberations on the recommendations of the Commission

 May 9, 2023 @ 6 PM Final Deliberations and Public Hearing

on the recommendations of the Commission
