Allan Eugene Daniels was born on Nov. 8, 1963, in Derby, Conn. He peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025. He was the last child born to the late James Edward and Anna Louise Sanders Daniels. Allan was raised in Ansonia, Conn., and graduated from Ansonia High School in 1981. He eventually enrolled at a technical school in New London, Conn., where he concentrated on electronics and furthered his passion for working on automobiles and electrical gadgets.
Throughout his life, Allan remained committed to working as an auto mechanic whenever possible, and by default became the family mechanic, frequently repairing relatives’ cars, making recommendations on which cars to purchase, and advising on how to keep their cars functioning. Allan ate, slept, and breathed all things involving automobiles. It was his love. He also found comfort in music and enjoying the simple things in life.
Allan loved the Lord immensely and despite his longstanding health challenges, he was never confused about where he received his help and trusted that the Lord would protect him — always! He gave praise to God for covering him, was an official member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Ansonia, Conn., and regularly attended the St. Matthews Freewill Baptist Church in New Haven, Conn., when he was able to participate. He loved life and his family. He introduced his nieces to what would be considered a low-budget but delicious “ramen” before it became wildly popular in local restaurants. He always complimented his family, encouraged them, made them laugh — sometimes to the point of exhaustion — and his good-natured attitude and full heart were genuinely kind and generous.
Allan is survived by and proudly fathered five children, Alan George (Ottavia) Anderson (grandson, Jasiah); Sandra Anderson; Emage LaMarque (grandson, Saikwan); Tasha LaMarque; and Nicholas E. Daniels, whom he affectionately called his “Sweet Pea.” His seven siblings will lovingly cherish his memory, including Anna Gervene Hartsfield; James Edward Jr. (Linda) Daniels; Abigail (Larry) Greene; Francine Daniels Riles; Mary Etta Daniels-Manning; Linward Daniels; and Pastor Barbara F. Daniels. Allan also leaves to remember him fondly numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death were two brothers, Marvin Daniels and Kenneth Daniels.
The family also would like to kindly thank Moises Hernandez of O’Reilly Auto Parts in East Haven, Conn., for believing in Allan and giving him an opportunity to work as a parts specialist.
