Joann E. Ellerby, 69, of New Haven, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. Joann was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Margaret Wilson on November 10, 1954. She graduated from Lee High School High School in 1974. Joann was employed with Bentley Gardens and retired after many years.
Joann’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood who she was, and how much she appreciated her life. In her spare time, Joann enjoyed fishing, traveling, and shopping with her grandson on Saturday.
Joann leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Willie C. Ellerby; daughter, Tonya M. (Michael) Gandy; stepson, Tyrone Ellerby, Justin Ellerby, and Cornell Ellerby; stepdaughter, Vanessa Ellerby; sisters, Kimberly Davis Phelmetta; brothers, Charlie Wilson, Darrell Wilson, Jessie Clayton, and Plenty Groover, Jr.; grandchildren, LeeAndre Swinton, Jr., Keshaun Fuller, Kinard Fuller, Tyrone Ellerby, Jr., and Jade Ellerby; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Wilson; brother, Soloman Clayton; and nephew Michael Hagans, Jr.
