Johnna E Jackson-Brown, 55, of Hendersonville, Tenn. was called to Glory on Oct. 8, 2022.
She was born to Pastor Evangelene Boynton and Ernest Jackson.
She attended Hillhouse High School and received a BA degree in Criminal Justice from Albertus Magnus as well as a Master’s Degree from Post University and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Central Connecticut State University.
She was loved by her friends and coworkers dearly and always found a way to make them laugh and smile. She worked for the Davidson County School system as a school based therapist. She also worked for the Department of Probation as a treatment manager in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Johnna delighted in helping people and served as a resource for her community. She was bubbly and networked well to assist her clients.
Johnna was also a talented singer in New Haven. Her credits include singing with Varick AME Zion and directing choirs as well as performing at the famed Apollo Theatre in New York.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Pastor Evangelene Boynton; her husband Mark Brown; her daughter Joshelle Jackson; her son, Marcel Brown(Paris Wife) as well as granddaughters Joloni Brooks and Kennedi Brown. She also leaves her sisters Alma Hall and Deborah Jackson and a brother Ernest Preston Jackson and a host of family and friends.
She was predeceased by her father Ernest Jackson, brother Jammie Ellis Jackson, and nephew Brian Hall.
