Kevin H. Diggs, 69, a resident of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born on Dec. 22, 1955, he was the son of the late Henry and Marjorie (Hodge) Diggs. Kevin graduated from Eli Whitney Regional Vocational School in 1974 where he majored in and received a State Certification as a Mechanical Draftsman.
Kevin was an avid learner and was proud of his educational pursuits. He held multiple associate degrees from Gateway Community College in Nursing, Business and General Studies. In 2011, Kevin continued his academic career by achieving a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of New Haven in 2013.
Kevin worked for the Lee Company as a Layout Drafter in Designs and was inducted into the International Honor Society of Business Management Administration in 2011. He then retired after 20 years from the Lee company on October 10, 2024.
Kevin was an avid sports fan, holding a 10-year season pass for the UCONN Women’s Basketball team. He enjoyed supporting his family in their many sports ventures, Broadway musicals and plays. His love for Broadway often found him taking acting classes in NYC.
Kevin leaves to cherish in his memory a daughter, Tychiah Harrison-Burns of Virginia Beach, Va.; sons, Tilon and Jason Diggs, both of New Haven; and his beloved grandchildren, Tatiana Harrison, Douglas Harrison, Johanna Burns, Alexia Diggs and Jason Diggs. Kevin also leaves behind one sister, Linda Diggs (Herman Roche) of Modesto, Calif.; and two brothers, Rodney Diggs (Beverly) of West Haven, Conn., and Daryl Diggs (Joyce) of Wallingford, Conn. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of childhood Brookside friends.
Kevin is predeceased by his grandson, Elijah Diggs; brother, Barry; sister-in-law, Angel Diggs; grandmother, Bessie Diggs; uncle, Elmer Diggs; and a special aunt, who he frequently ventured and traveled with on many occasions, Ernestyne Diggs Killings.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at Bible Gospel Center, 143 Leeder Hill Drive, Hamden, CT, 06517.
