Lucille Minnie” Anderson, 75

Minnie Lucille Anderson was born on Jan. 5, 1949, in New Haven, Connecticut. Minnie had been a long-time resident of New Haven.

She graduated from James Hillhouse High School in 1967. Minnie went on to get her associate degree in criminal justice from South Central Community College in the early 1980s. Minnie was a long-time member of St. Martin De Porres Church and a member of Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxillary. Minnie was a criminal investigator for New Haven legal aid. She solved many cases, led prosecutors, and assisted clients with local issues. Minnie retired in the early 1990s. Minnie and many others in the community helped with Waverly Townhouse housing issues, lowering crime in the neighborhood, redesigning the townhouses, and much more assistance.

Minnie passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 after dealing with a long battle with many health issues. 

Minnie loved puzzles, reading, cooking, listening to old school music, playing candy crush, collecting bells, and watching CNN for politics.

Minnie is predeceased by her parents, Alvin and Esdelia Anderson. Minnie is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Anderson (Chrissy) of New Haven, CT; granddaughter, Ayana Smith of New Haven, CT; grandson, Kyle Anderson of North Haven, CT; brother, Alvin (Mae) Anderson of CT; goddaughter, Yolanda Moses of New Haven, CT; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life will take place Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Parish, 136 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Thursday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Services by Howard K.
