Mitzi V. Gunn, 65, of New Haven passed in to eternal life on Thursday, December 3. She was born on January 18, 1955 in Brooklyn New York to John Gunn and the late Flora Jackson Gunn.
Mitzi moved to West Haven where she graduated from West Haven High School. She then attended and graduated from Brooklyn School of Design, where she pursued and obtained education as a paralegal and mortgage brokering. Mitzi went on to pursue a myriad of educational endeavors and worked in areas as diverse as her intellectual curiosities. She worked in the automotive field, postal system, Blue Cross and New Haven Housing Authority. Mitzi’s life was a reflection of her eclectic and inquisitive spirit.
Mitizi was a fiercely private woman who fought a valiant and long fight with Multiple Myeloma, a disease to which she succumbed. She was a unique combination of intellectual curiosity, physical and spiritual beauty. She will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind a grieving son: More Gunn-Childs; beloved brother: Napoleon; sister- in-law Merriellen; and many loving friends.
Mitzi was predeceased by her brother; Lonzie and mother; Deacon Flora Gunn.
