Vincina Mills (Cina), 35, of New Haven was granted her angel wings on February 1, 2020 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends.
Cina was born January 1, 1985 to the late William and Alese Mills. She received her education from the Hamden public school system and graduated from Hamden High School in 2003. She continued her education and became a Certified Nurses Aid in 2006.
Cina was active in her spiritual life and was once the Praise and Worship Leader and Choir Director at Strait Gate Church of God in Christ in Hamden before joining the Breakthrough Church family where she was an active member.
Cina loved being a Mom to her one and only son Tay’Jour and always strived to put a smile on his face. She was a friend to many and was known for her willingness to always lend a helping hand to someone in need. She was a big sister to her nieces and always had a smile and a hug ready for everyone.
Cina is survived by her son Carlos Tay’Jour Barnes. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings, William Mills, Jr., Burnis (Pam) Mills, Michael Mills, Douglas (Marcia) Mills, Sr., Tracy Crews, Jannise Mills, Richard Mills, Cathie Mills, Khaalis Mills, Kevin Mills, and Michael Martinez Mills; Godmother, Sharon Marshall; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Carl Mayes and Edward Mayes.
A celebration of her life will take place Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Breakthrough Church, 481 Shelton Ave, Hamden, CT 06517. Friends may call Friday at the church from 9:00 – 10:00 AM.
