William David Evans of Boston and Nantucket and Aventura, Florida, passed away on January 12, 2023, at age 75 years. He was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy Evans and brother to Susan Evans, the former husband of Carla Ginsburg MD, and married to Christine Jordan for 23 years.
He was the loving father of daughters Marissa (and Ben) Alden and Rebecca Evans, cherished grandfather to Blake and Hayes and Cedar Alden, and uncle to his niece Annabel Hertz and nephew Zachary Hertz.
He is also survived by many close friends and colleagues and his basketball family who will miss his distinctive personality and dry sense of humor.
He grew up in New Haven and attended Hillhouse High School and had many uncles and aunts and cousins in the city.
One of the greatest passers and playmakers in Boston College, he set records of 276 assists in a single season (1966 – 67) and 669 in his career and is a member of the Eagles Hall of Fame.
Following his graduation in 1969, he played professional basketball for the New York Nets and then returned to Boston College to earn his law degree. Subsequently he became the president of MRXX Corporation.
